FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP referral letter?

Yes. A GP Referral helps your obstetricia/gynaecologist plan your appointment to meet your needs effectively. Women with cancer screening or ongoing disability receive priority. A referral letter allows early access to informational resources, so your specialist can begin helping you and your GP now, even before they meet you.

How do I make an appointment with my obstetrician/gynaecologist?

Have your GP send us a referral letter. Within 48 hours your specialist will review your referral and determine what is needed for your visit. Next, our team will contact you to discuss a time for your appointment.

Is bulk billing available?

Medicare covers a portion of your specialist's fee, but there will be out-of-pocket expenses for most visits. Your doctor's fees are structured to ensure that you have access to quality equipment and sufficient appointment time to ensure best possible outcomes.

How much are my doctor's fees?

Your doctor will endeavour to be as transparent about their fees as possible. You can find their consultation fees here. For surgical procedures and births your doctor will provide you with a detailed written outline. Please be aware that without health insurance it is very difficult to accurately anticipate costs.

Where are you located?

We are located in the Friendlies Medical Suites on Crofton street, across from the Friendlies hospital.

Do you have car parking?

Our car park can be accessed from the rear of the building on Woondooma street. Street parking is also available on Crofton and Woondooma streets.
